OFFICE
POLICIES:
FINANCIAL POLICIES
Payment is due at
time of service. The patient's financial portion is collected
before services are rendered. Patients with no insurance coverage or proof of
insurance on the date of service will be considered self-pay. The self-pay
patient will receive a 30% discount. In all cases, insured or self-pay,
collections notices will begin if the patient owed balance is not received
within 90 days of notification to the patient. All unpaid balances will be sent
to an outside collection agency after all practice efforts have been exhausted.
The patient will be responsible for all collection cost to include court fees
and attorney fees should the practice have to pursue delinquent accounts in
small claims court.
APPOINTMENTS
We schedule by appointments only and do
not accept walk-ins. We ask for a 24-hour notice for cancelled appointments.
Reminder calls for patient appointments are done as a courtesy only and
therefore might not be done for every appointment. We ask that new patients or referral
patients bring their previous medical records with them (especially
pregnant patients, second opinion patients, or patients wanting a
procedure) or request patients arrange to have them sent to our office.
AFTER HOURS
POLICIES
After the office closes, patients with an emergency can
call 843-767-2121. They will be connected to the office's answering service.
All emergency only calls will be forwarded to the on-call physician. If a call
gets put through to the doctor that is not an emergency, the patient will be
charged a $25.00 fee. The answering service will not determine which calls are
emergencies; they will simply go by what the patient states.
INSURANCE LIST
We accept the
following insurance companies.
It is the patient's responsibility to know if their insurance company requires
prior authorization; if the appropriate authorization is not obtained in our
office at the time of service, the patient will be considered self-pay or will
have to reschedule their appointment until authorization is obtained.
